Discover the KRONEN Group's Superior Raw Materials

At KRONEN Group, we take pride in our extensive selection of raw materials used in our premium growing media production. With most of our raw material sites owned and operated by our dedicated members, we ensure complete control over the entire process.

The KRONEN Group is committed to sustainability. We use innovative methods to transform quickly renewable resources into growing media components. These processes take place within our highly advanced production sites, demonstrating our commitment to in-house manufacturing. We proudly produce Ecofibrex (wood fiber), KRONEN bark humus, and CO₂-ferm (new generation compost) as prime examples of our expertise.

CO₂- FERM

The KRONEN ECO-compost CO₂FERM is a new-generation bioactive compost with micro-organisms and minerals, generated by anaerobic fermentation according to the patent held by well- known plant producers. The product is ready to use, odorless, pollution-free, and eco-friendly.

Ecofibrex® (Wood fibre)

Ecofibrex is made from conifer wood chips from sustainable forestry. The material is being milled and crushed under high pressure with a temperature of minimum 70°C. Ecofibrex is made from renewable environmentally friendly resources. Due to its superior physical and chemical characteristics this product can substitute peat without compromising on the final product quality leading to high quality crops.

Sand

KRONEN is using high quality quarz sand with a particle size of 1-3mm derived from clean sites. Pure sand shows a low water capacity and high drainage capacity but mixed with peat it does reduce air capacity and increases water capacity due to an increase in fine pores in the substrates.

Coco products

Coco products like coir pith, coco fibres or coco chips have gained popularity in the production of growing media due to their numerous benefits. The materials are available in the countries of origin, such as Sri-Lanka and India as residual materials from coconut processing. The KRONEN Group uses only coir from selected suppliers that guarantee the high quality required for the use in horticulture, fulfilling social and environmental standards.

Composted bark

The production process of composted bark involves several steps to transform raw bark material into a nutrient-rich mature compost. The base is selected natural, clean coniferous bark. Through a six—month decomposition process the material is sanitized, stabilized and reaches its final quality.

Perlite

Perlite, as a natural raw material, is derived by heating volcanic material to a temperature of 1000°C, producing a lightweight, porous material which is chemically inert. This additive is widely used in professional horticulture due to its high porosity and hence excellent air capacity.

Clay

Clay is a mineral consisting of fine particles. It is widely used as an additive for professional substrates due to its water storing properties and the ability to adsorb nutrients. Buffered nutrients are prevented from leaching during watering and released when required by the plant. The KRONEN Group uses specially granulated, quality certified clay from Sweden due to its advantageous physical and chemical characteristics, leading to increased crop security.
